Cardcaptor Sakura is a story originally created in manga form by CLAMP, a group of four manga artists. It has been made into a 70-episode TV anime series with two movies.
The story is about 10-year-old Sakura Kinomoto, who one day opens a book which contains the Clow Cards and unknowingly breaks its seal. When she picks up the top card and reads its name, "Windy," a strong gust of wind scatters all the cards. This causes Kero-chan, whose job is to guard the book's seal, to wake up from his 30 year nap (^^;). After finding out what happened (and having several small heart attacks), he proclaims Sakura the "card captor." She unwillingly accepts and begins her quest to seal all the cards with his help.
A heavily edited version of Cardcaptor Sakura was shown in the US and Canada under the title "Cardcaptors." However, because both series are so different, this site is only about the original (where Kero-chan doesn't sound like a 30-year-old surfer-dude... bah! ).
